Author visits and workshops

Having worked as a teacher, I'm comfortable visiting schools and talking to children and I think it's totally awesome to be invited to work with amazing young minds. There are three main categories listed below but there's definitely room for flexibility around each one. Please get in touch for a chat to discuss your specific requirements and hopefully we can find something that fits with your budget and your exciting plans!

AUTHOR VISITS AND WORKSHOPS

I would love to come and visit your school or festival to talk about the issues covered in my books, my writing process, the way that books get made, or a combination of all of the above! I'm happy to do assemblies, work with different classes / age groups, or anything else that might work.

ONLINE TALKS AND Q&A SESSIONS

If it's not possible to come and visit you in person, I can chat to groups via the video calling platform that works best for you. I'm happy to prepare something beforehand or be led by the children on the day – it's up to you!

FOREST SCHOOL SESSIONS BASED AROUND BOOKS

Having run forest school sessions for many groups of children, I'm happy to incorporate an outdoor learning experience into my school / festival visits. We can always have a chat about what might work best in your setting.

TESTIMONIALS

“Thank you for the World Book Day virtual visit you thoughtfully prepared and lovingly delivered – it was so appreciated by myself, the school staff, our pupils, and their families. The children were all fully engaged and have been inspired ever since. I hope you know how much of an impact you and your incredible books are having on the world. You have played a huge part in instigating the enthusiasm that our school community has for kindness and saving the world and I shall be forever grateful.”

Maxine Farrant – teacher at St Mary's Infant School, Hertfordshire

“Over lockdown, we were lucky enough to have a fantastic virtual visit from Loll. From the moment she popped up onto the screen the children were mesmerised by her fun and energetic interaction. Loll was incredible at engaging all of the year groups during her creative workshops, from Reception to Year 6 and many of our children were inspired by her enthusiasm to help save our planet! Thank you for visiting us and being an inspiration to so many of our children.”

Becky Gunthorpe – Teacher and Literacy Coordinator at Brookhurst Primary School, Warwickshire
